Helleborus x sternii - although Helleborus is mostly sold as a shade plant, and it will tolerate shade, this plant grows perfectly well in sunny locations where it produces more blooms.

This fern would be great because it needs water retentive soil (read OURS) and acid, which we have in abundance I think, thanks to the pine trees.
