Wine and Ivory Jacket Jacket made of heavy wool in wine and cream. Tight fitting, hip-length jacket with stand-up collar. Front attached vest is ornately trimmed with maroon machine embroidery. The same trim is found on the shoulder, bottom of sleeve and on the back. Skirt of the jacket is shaped to fit over a bustle. c. 1890s.

Deep Royal Blue Jacket - double-breasted outer coat, c. 1900, Melton wool dyed deep royal blue. The outside of the coat is decorated with black cotton passementerie braid at the front lapels, around the collar edge, down center front, around the hem to the back. Center back has a large motif as well as do the lower edges of sleeve hems. There are two hand finished button holes 1 1/4" wide with a set of four mother of pearl buttons that close the double breast.

I could totally rock this. :) This reminds me a lot of a late victorian style jacket. As I am very fond of that period, I'm not surprised I like this jacket so much!

Dress, 1890s. Two-piece gray silk faille. Boned bodice covered in pleated black chiffon with sequins and crystal beads. Back chiffon insert with cream tape lace. Sleeves puffed front and back, ruffled collar with back bow, ruffled cuff. Skirt lined in polished cotton with velvet hem band. Whitaker Auctions.
