Writing Rubric. love that this has so many visuals!!! (Younger, but maybe a grades 3-5 one can be created)

The writing rubric would be an excellent idea to have hanging in the classroom for the students to reference to while doing in class writing activities. The standards that would correspond with this pin would be any writing standard within the third grade level. For example 3.W.1: Writing: Text types and purposes. Writing opinion pieces on topics or texts

Love this visual writing rubric ... great for the beginning of the year to give them a starting point!

Love this visual writing rubric for first grade!! by tinacm

Use this resource to quickly and easily create your own visual writing rubric to help your primary students self assess their work. No drawing required! :)$

this is a great writing sample for 2nd grade- how awesome would it be to make books of sample writing for common core for narrative, informational, and opinion. This is what a 4 looks like, a 3, a 2, and a 1.

I think rubrics are a developmental thing and not all kids are ready to use them effectively in 3rd grade. I feel that having 4 samples to compare their work to will make them much more accountable. It’s visual. I will be able to say, “which sample does your writing most look like and why?” and ALL students can verbally respond to that. I don’t feel the same is true for a text-only rubric.

Spicing Up Your Writing Anchor Chart! Created with her grade 2 class and then they each got out a piece of writing and "spiced it up" with red pens! (making the writing 'sizzle'!)
