Nicholas Brothers ~ Stormy Weather. Fred Astaire once called this performance "The greatest dance number ever filmed."

Fred Astaire once called this performance “the greatest dance number ever filmed.” Mikhail Baryshnikov said, “Those guys are perfect examples of pure genius.” Everyone should see this. From the 1943 classic, Stormy Weather, Fayard and Harold Nicholas: the phenomenal Nicholas Brothers. check out the splits they do down the stairs!!!

"The Nicholas Brothers in Stormy Weather (1943) Fred Astaire called this “the Greatest dance number ever filmed”. This scene was filmed in one take and they even didn’t rehearse jumping over each others’ heads." All that performance was done without rehearsal with the band for synchronizing the band's music with the Nicholas Brothers' tap-dancing interpretation of the swing music being played? Wow! Fabulous!

probably about the best dance routine I’ve ever seen.  And I’m not the only one who thinks that: Fred Astaire once called this performance “the greatest dance number ever filmed.” Mikhail Baryshnikov said, “Those guys are perfect examples of pure genius.”  Everyone should see this. From the 1943 classic, Stormy Weather, Fayard and Harold Nicholas: the phenomenal Nicholas Brothers.

Choreography by Kelly himself. The best number from the movie Les Girl. The special feature with the movie relates how Gene Kelly himself did the choreography for this dance although he did not get any screen credit for that.
