Built in 1901, this was the North Memphis Savings Bank.  But in 1920 it became the home of the E. H. Crump Insurance Company and it was here that "Boss" Crump controlled the city and state through his political machine.  The building is now home to the Chamber of Commerce and the Center City Commission.

his is the original building of The Memphis Press Scimiter. The Press Scimiter was mostly about local news and The Commercial Appeal was about news nationally as well as local news. The Commercial Appeal is the paper now for Memphis a surrounding cities.

This Building is at Front and GE Patterson, Central Station is the tall building behind it.
