Many writing anchor charts -- genres, writers workshop, transitions, organization, prewriting structures, strong sentences, said is dead etc.
I would have this in my classroom at least at the beginning of the year for any grade. I would continue to keep it up the entire year for Kindergarten and first so students can remember why writers write. There is a purpose and teaching purpose to lower grades can sometimes be difficult and I found that this poster makes it easy and simple for students to understand why they would want to write possibly a letter or a journal.

Oreo Opinions | Community Post: 25 Awesome Anchor Charts For Teaching Writing #anchorchart #anchorcharts
Oreo Opinions | This deliciously inspired opinion anchor chart can be used by students in grades 3–5 during writers workshop, or when developing an opinion for discussion or debate. Description from pinterest.com. I searched for this on bing.com/images
When writing opinion pieces, students need to understand that it is more than just stating how they feel about a subject. There needs to be reasons and supporting examples for that opinion. This chart lists the important components of opinion writing and also adds a mnemonic device "OREO" to help them remember them. I like that there are examples of sentence starters at the bottom. These can help students use variety in their writing and make it more interesting to readers.

Accountable Talk anchor chart. I just learned all about accountable talk from my common core training this week
"Accountable Talk anchor chart." I liked the idea because I think that its a good reference for students to use when they need to communicate their ideas. I do think that it should be used as only a starting point . Students should be encouraged to come up with their own ideas and express ideas in original ways. A starting point displayed in the classroom is great way to get the conversation going.
