Campus gossip credits the late Brother Louis Schuster, S.M., a longtime English professor, with penning the lyrics to the school song, "The Bells of St. Mary's." The original music was composed in 1917 by A. Emmett Adams and became a hit in 1945 when Bing Crosby sang lyrics written for a movie of the same name.

Dr. Charles L. Cotrell became St. Mary's president in 2000. His last day as acting president was May 31, 2012. He plans to return to teaching. Thanks for everything, Dr. Cotrell!

This is a glimpse of a St. Louis College class in 1909. At the time, students grades 5-14 attended the school, which became St. Mary's in 1923.
