Rheumatoid Arthritis 10 Things to NOT say to Someone with a Chronic Illness. SERIOUSLY! I recently been diagnosed along with my other illnesses such as fibromyalgia, daily headache/migraines, bipolar etc. Over the Years have heard them all--sad so much lack of compassion/empathy. Also stages of each conditions and each person is different on how its handled, therefore, do not COMPARE!!!

I know I'm not my illness, but some days it seems so overwhelmingly difficult to cope that I put on the label and I wear it like a coat. #butyoudontlooksick

I thought that I invented this saying but guess it's universal. Also I am tired of being tired.

... I hear it won't happen EVER AGAIN once you've had children...

How many spoons will it cost? A question we have to ask ourselves everyday, with virtually every activity.... If you don't know what I'm talking about, please look for the "Spoon Theory" on this board, or via google. It may explain to you what it's like for us better than I can.

This is one people in my life do not understand. We have to make sacrifices all the time. Just spending a few hours grocery shopping one day, might cause me to not be able to get out of bed the next morning. And it might even take a week for me to leave the house again....Life with Fibromyalgia/ Chronic Illness

Tired. I hate that every few weeks I am done and out for three days and then it take three days to get moving again. 2 steps forward and 3 steps backwards. Wish some could cure me of that. I will take a day of throwing up in exchange for my done days.

Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Meniere's Disease, Hypothyroidism, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia etc.

Gosh yes. Sums up my fashion sense these days. If I can find clothing that doesn't make me want to claw my skin off because it has a tag or isn't soft enough or touches the wrong place, I'm happy. If it happens to be cute? Even better. And if it happens to be all of the above in one pair of pajamas? Score!!

Makeup is just another creative outlet for me, so that's another reason it makes me feel better!
