A Gem of a Garden: Succulents planted into chicken wire frame wow!

  • Evelyn Mynhier

Studded with glass ornaments, a garland of echeverias, sempervivums, sedums, and other succulents trims a staircase at the Vancouver home of Thomas Hobbs and Brent Beattie. The plants, tucked into soil-filled chicken-wire frames, create a warm-season display. Lots of garden ideas.

Instead of flowers in the window boxes...

Softly muted aquatic blues. Succulents are pretty on their own, but grouped together, the texture and color transforms into an amazing alien landscape.

color and texture, and low maintenance. what could be better?

    Where can you find these?

  • Lori Wagoner

Succulents. Google, to see what you like. They can be planted in many ways, make little babies on their own, once they are established. Local plant and garden centers will have them; they can be bought on line too. Good luck

Succulent Wreath Make an inexpensive succulent wreath that will live all year long.

Nice collection of succulents. The cascading ones are know to me over a lifespan of 67 years as Rosary Beads.
