Pho n. pronounced "fah." Meaning Asian comfort food at it's best :) It is actually Vietnamese noodle soup, usually served with beef or chicken, rice noodles, broth with cilantro and thinly sliced onions; is often served with Asian basil, jalepenos, lime, and bean sprouts that are added to the soup by the diner. Also added may be Hoisin and/or Sriracha.
First I enjoyed a bowl of this at Bam Bu a local Vietnamese restaurant. Then I used this recipe & made a pot at home......as close as it could possibly be except I had to omit the "coagulated pork blood" due to the last of stock at my local mega mart. haha
Easy to make with everyday ingredients you can get from the supermarket. Great for entertaining and BBQ. The marinade is awesome!
