back yard: Lily of the Valley: These fragrant beauties have a tough-as-nails constitution that shrugs off bone-chilling temperatures. Plus, lily-of-the-valley is shade tolerant, making it a great groundcover for wooded backyards. Most commonly seen with white flowers, there are also varieties with pretty pink blooms. There’s also a variegated form with dark green leaves with white stripes. This plant is hardy to Zone 3. And they are deer resistant.

LOVE THIS.. reminds me of living in Walla Walla. I loved the back yard of a home I lived in when going to school. Lots of Lily of the Valley bordering the back fence and garage. Lily-of-the-Valley/ Very Fragrant, will attract Butterflies and Hummingbirds. Plant with "White" Moonflower Vine which is also fragrant and a white midnight garden plant. WARNING-berries are poisonous, spreads quickly and never plant under SHALLOW rooted trees, they'll compete for water and nutrients.
