Classroom Community Building

I want to have an open relationships with my students and I want them to feel safe discussing any topics, including the more difficult ones like race, culture, religion, etc. I think this saying hanging in the class will foster that idea and is a good way to show your students you are a person always willing to learn and be there for them. This is part of creating a prosocial environment, as our text described in Chapter 4.

Teaching With a Mountain View: First Day of School Activities for Big Kids

Birthday board I made for my kiddos. I downloaded the months off of Teachers Pay Teachers and used one of my fonts on Word to print out the word "birthday." The parents and kids love the new display for the classroom :)

Easy and adorable No Name board. Clip papers that don't have names on them to the board and have students go check there instead of spending your time trying to figure out who they belong to!

Fantastic idea! As an end of the year gift I bought my students beach-balls , they collected classmates signatures..we had a "ball"

Add pieces for good class behavior! When he's put together, class prize/extra play minutes. He can also lose pieces... Cute visual for behavior incentive!

Lesson Plans & Lattes: Ten Pin LInky: Classroom Management. Oohhh could laminate and put in calming spot with a white board market! Love having students reflect and this is a good one!
