Lava Fountain of Mt Etna Volcano in Italy. Europe's most active volcano sent streams of red hot lava high into the night sky March 2013. Fountains = series of short pulses or a continuous jet of lava. The highest lava fountains ever recorded were during the 1999 eruption of this Mount Etna in Italy, which reached heights of 2,000 meters (6,562 ft). Lava fountains of Mount Vesuvius' 1779 eruption are believed to have reached at least 3,000 m (9,843 ft). -Wikipedia Research, DdO:)
