    Effigy of Henry the Young King at Rouen. In 1170 Henry was crowned king. While his father Henry II still lived. The practice of crowning the heir during the elder king's lifetime was supposed to prevent disputes after his death. In this case, it led to the great revolt. Young Henry was married to Margaret of France. For unknown reasons she was crowned after her husband on 27 August 1172. The delay of her coronation angered her father King Louis VII
