Curious Places: Life size doll house (Saskatchewan/ Canada) "Heather Benning’s Dollhouse is a larger-than-life piece that was situated in a Saskatchewan field. The artist replaced the back of the house with Plexiglass, allowing for a typical dollhouse viewing. Inside, Benning had redecorated the abandoned house with furniture of the 1960s, when the house was left empty."

This life-size dollhouse sits in a field in Manitoba. Abandoned in the late 60s, the house was transformed into a giant dollhouse by Saskatchewan artist Heather Benning in 2007. Walls were replaced with plexiglass on the north side — opening up the colorful interior and showing off the 60s period furniture Benning used to recreate a look from the same time period that the home was abandoned.. How cool is that?

Could totally use this in a classroom! What a cute idea to use a book shelf for a doll house! You could even paint the backs of the shelf with different scenes to use for toy storage and play - like a stack of books painted on the back where the books go, a race track scene where the cars belong, etc.
