Isn't the KJV Bible the Bible that King James had written to accommodate his views. Don't know the details on that.

Diane Sapiro - you missed the point... LDS study, believe & live by all 3 books. Men have changed the various religions through time. You can walk into a Baptist church on one corner who teaches something different than the next one down the street, I know I spent years looking for a church. I left the Catholic church to become LDS 8 years ago and have never felt better spiritual in my life. I still believe its an individual choice, but please do not judge (ever per scripture) and please learn the facts. Only my son & I joined the church. @ Kels- my point-thx!

I think this discussion is great, but please be kind to one another. Like I've said, if you can't say anything nice, comment elsewhere. Ask & answer questions all you like, but no name calling or mean accusations.

I do have a question, though. What, Diane Sapiro, makes you so motivated to point out the flaws that you see in the faith of the Mormons? Where does your information come from?

Nephi "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." (1 Nephi 3:7)

This is brilliant. Books make you THINK So for this nerdy after school club I'm in, you have to give a 2 minute oral speech about a topic you feel strongly about. My speech is about why books are better than movies. BAM.

“Master those books you have. Read them thoroughly. Bathe in them until they saturate you. Read and reread them…digest them. (Quote continues in comments)

...and after you have finished reading, you will feel like all that happened, happened to you, and that it all belongs to you... the good and bad, the ecstasy, the remorse and sorrow, the people and places..." Everything. Ernest Hemingway.

Old Books. I love the smell of a used book store....
