Flower Pot as Garden Tool Holder Fill a terra-cotta pot with builder's sand (sold at hardware stores), then stir in some mineral oil—just enough to dampen the sand. The mixture will clean the tools and prevent corrosion and rust. (If the pot has a hole on the bottom, cover it with duct tape.)

Pinner Wrote: Put a sticker on your apples while they are still green on the tree. As they ripen, the part under the sticker stays green and you have a custom stenciled apple. I'm guessing this would work with veggies from the garden too.
