The Way I Feel

The Way I Feel by Janan Cain http://www.amazon.com/dp/1884734715/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_GjAlub051F97S

Books to teach appropriate behavior (following directions, bullying, tattling, friendship, personal space, conflict resolution, respect, empathy, etc)

LOVE THIS ~~ Positive reinforcement ~~ Put a cotton ball, marble, pom-pom, etc. in every time you catch your child being good. Do something special when it's full. This is exactly what I need instead of focusing on the bad.

When something occurs it is all to easy to place blame before asking what happened. If a blaming statement is said, everyone becomes defensive and ill feelings arise. When a person asks for information, like a detective, in a non-blaming way, a dialog is established that can help solve a problem in a positive manner.

Online Read-Alouds that use expression and allow students to "follow the colored word" as they are read. Great for Daily 5-Listen to Reading!
