Did this all the time.
Remember, 90 S, Childhood Memories, Cant, Funny, Thought, Memory Lane, Kid, 80 S
Totally used to do this! My sister thought this was the coolest thing. I did it a few times too. haha silly kids.
@Maria Restaino I remember you doing this to yourself to make me cry as a little kid! Ahh memories!
tried this a time or two. Er thought we were so cool if we could do this. Made some kids flinch.
ha, I remember doing this with my BFF as a teen, thought it was cool! lmao
Yep. Childhood Memories.
Remember, 80S, 70 S, Blast, Childhood Memories, Water Beds, Memory Lane, 80 S
waterbeds- we didn't have one, but I distinctly remember going to my Aunt Vivians and not wanting to leave without getting on it.
the waterbed :) I had one of these almost my whole childhood, a queen size at the age of 6! Lol! I didn't want bunk beds or a canopy, I wanted a water bed!
I remember having a waterbed exactly like this one. Moving it from one apartment to another was a challenge.
Waterbeds #childhood #memories ᖇ͈̮̗૩̰͘ᔿ̭̩̩ԑ͙̚Ḿ̲̳͘ʙ͛͘ʓ̻̮̀̚я̗̀¡̬̭ꏢ̣̋ ᗬ̠ᵃ͠《8̣̬0̠̎ˢ̀·ꏢ̻̇·9̱͠0̩͙ˢ̋》
waterbeds... why did we like them??? I can still remember the cold and the "slosh". Ugh!
I think I even had that headboard with it. Waterbeds were the thing to have in the 80s.
waterbeds... I can still remember the big "hot water bottle"and the "slosh". Ugh!
waterbeds -- I STILL have a water bed!
Before there was texting...
Remember, High School, Childhood Memories, Funny, Text Messages, 80 S, Kid
Before Text Messages We Had These . I remember exchanging them in between classes or lunch time!! Oh those childhood memories that I miss so dearly.
Passing notes in class. I remember all the crazy ways we used to fold these things. My friends and I always wrote notes to each other. Most of the time they didn't even say anything important. We even used to write them in crazy patterns. Something that most kids will never experience again.
It's sad:( I have a whole caboodle full of letters from high school! I've re-read them and it is so funny to remember those times. Nobody is going to keep their text messages so they can re-read them when they are 30+!
Still have many from high school! I remember meeting my friends at the buses and giving them our notebook to tale home and write to us. It was our way of passing notes to our whole group!
I remember passing notes all the time and spending more time decorating them then writing them. If kids wrote notes now we would have a lot more great writers!
Before Text Messages - I saved all of my and Tony's love letters from high school and anniversary/valentine's cards, etc. Kids can read them when we're gone and remember how much we loved each other :)
Remember when? Special folds, and always "private!" So when your kids tell you you don't understand... tell them you got in trouble for text messaging in school, too.
Omg! I remember me nd my friend a.p always passing notes to eachother in high school! Try nd fold em in diff ways lol
I remember these. Didn't have a lot of friends to pass notes to and those days weren't all that great. Thank God I am not a teenager anymore. Before Text Messages
Josten's senior class rings!! I lost mine in a move!

Josten's senior class rings. Girls who were "going steady" with a guy wore his senior ring on a chain around her neck... or she would make it smaller by rolling adhesive tape around and around the bottom of it. Yuck... the tape always got dirty!
I think our's was by ArtCarved. Still have my Junior High School ring and my high school ring. Josten's senior class rings!! I still have mine...
Josten's senior class rings!! I still have mine. And they were all from Josten's. The Josten's publishing division that printed everyones yearbooks was right near me in Visalia, CA!
Josten's senior class rings!! I still have mine - it kind of resembles the one in back on the far right!
Josten's senior class rings- I had the style on the far right with the blue stone. It had a garnet and was from GJHS class of 86, initials LH- lost in Mesa Mall if anyone ever finds it.
Josten's grad rings! I had one but it was stolen back in the 90's when I still lived at home.
Josten's senior class rings!! Do kids today still get these?

I was already thinking OMG when I saw the French comment. I had forgotten all about this toy. A step up from Etch a Sketch. OMG!!! J'avais complètemnt oublié ce jeu, mais maintenant je m'en souviens très bien!
SkeDoodle! I had this! and it was sooo lame, tiny screen. It was just like etch a sketch, only difference was you had the ability to make circles.
Skedoodle I know you're getting older if you remember this toy!! I must've played with this when I was about 3 or 4.
Skedoodles! Totally forgot about this toy! (It was high tech back in the day, LOL!)
Skedoodle. My kids had one. I wonder if it's in the basement still?

1957 cost of living stats... both of my parents were 6... sometimes I can catch eggs on sale for 99 cents.. not far from these prices but, that's the only steady in this chart
1957 It's amazing how much things have changed. If only the prices above were the same today. Even two times the above figures would still be doable.
prices 1957 - there's a reason I'd like to go back in time but then again looking at the pay...better not
Seems a little high on the home price. My parents bought a 3 bedroom home in Orange County, CA in 1959 for $13,500.
Cost of Living in 1957... this was before my time! And 25 cents bought enough candy for a week
Cost of Living in 1957... A little B4 my time. The prices - WOW. Ave income = $85/week
1957 times changes alot after the 1950s but even before the 1950s

Remember, 80S, 90 S, Nintendo, Childhood Memories, Videogame, Video Games, 80 S
This may sound silly, but video games made me read. I was very young and I didn’t have a lot of money, but I knew I wanted to spend it on a video game for my Nintendo. In order to get a game that I wanted, I had to read the boxes and manuals. I remember I bought a game because it had Bugs Bunny on it and I hated the game.
Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) - The first video game I ever played was Super Mario Bros., and it was the beginning of something special. The console was a basic looking thing, a little like a lunch box, but just looking at this photo takes me back. Look at that control pad! Just two action buttons, a 'start', a 'select' and the D-Pad....simplicity in itself. And no loading times....
Remember the Nintendo 64 was the only thing that would keep you in the house when everyone else was outside playing.
The Original Nintendo Gaming System (The 80s!!!! I'm seventeen. My sister and I used to have one of these. We used to play a lot of video games together...)
♥ original nintendo! I remember when we 1st got ours!! Memories! :) this was the ONLY video game system I ever could play! Lol
NES, This thing brought me so much joy as a kid, I love the simplicity of it a few buttons, big boxy design (clearly designed in the 80s) I still have the original one that my mother bought for my sister and me. I enjoy the color schemes of the system, and the futuristic look of the system (now it would be considered "retro", but I'm sure you remember the futuristic vibe this system, its ad campaign and how there was nothing like it at the time.)
Most of my childhood memories involved this wonderful Nintendo ;)

I can relate: when I was younger I drew the sun in the corner of the of the paper. #childhood #memories
Why can't the sun always be shining in the corner with a smiley face?????
And I always added the sideways smiley face on it, too :=)
I draw sooo much on my note paper it's not even funny
I find it funny that other people did that... haha...
Yes I did...and it usually had a smiley face in it
Doesnt everyone though?

I remember that lol, it took a lot of strength to let those old mix tapes go...funny how my iTunes play lists have a lot of the same songs on them!
and they actually told you the song BEFORE it played so you could decide if you wanted to record it or if you had time to run to the bathroom before the next song.
YES! And having a mixtape full of half recorded songs because you didn't catch the first minute.
...those were the days! We must have made 100 of those mixed tapes in the 80's and early 90's!
I remember the first song I ever recorded on tape...Quit Playing Games by the Backstreet Boys!
...those were the days! I've still got a cassette of WOKI, Dr. John Saint John.

do you like butter?
80S, Buttercups, Childhood Memories, Buttercup Flower, Boyfriend, Dandelion, 70S, Butter Test, Kid
Do you like butter? If you put a dandelion under your chin and it showed yellow under your chin, the saying was, "You like butter." Thanks Grandma! :)
Do you like butter? This was something young kids did in the 60s.It was like a test. You just rubbed a buttercup under your chin & if it turned yellow, it meant that you did like butter. Margarine came out in the 70s. So this test went out the window. Hahaha
do you like butter? Do this test with a buttercup flower. If there's a yellow glow, you like butter.
do you like butter? I remember doing this. I miss finding buttercup flowers. I don't see many with the manicured lawns these days.
Everyone did this... do you love butter??? It turned out that EVERYONE loved butter, according to the buttercup! Hahaha...
Hold a buttercup flower under your chin... if it makes your skin look yellow, you LOVE butter!

We used to do this all the time growing up...sip the nectar from the honeysuckle plant :) The neighborhood kids would ride our bikes all over town, stopping at houses that had these honeysuckle plants and have a snack. No one ever cared. It was part of growing up.
