Think sheet. Have the student fill this out when they have broken a classroom rule or hurt the feelings of another student, have the student reflect on their behavior and then fix the situation. I like this because it lets them think of alternatives rather than just apologizing and moving on.

If you have your students keep Data Notebooks, this is a must have! It is a simple sheet for students to record their growth as a reader from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. There is a place for them to put their Fluency level and a place for them to record their Reading (Running Record) benchmark Level. No matter what assessment tool your school/district is using, this will work for you. Enjoy!

FREEBIE - "What is Fluency?" is a great reference sheet which provides an overview of the major parts of fluency. Use it with students to introduce fluency in the classroom, or share with parents to reinforce skills at home!
