When Leslie and Michael Bacon outgrew their cozy Vermont log cottage, the couple never thought of moving. Instead, they built a light-filled addition around the structure, preserving it as the heart of their new home. Today the couple enjoys the best of both worlds, thanks to new rooms that surround the old cabin, turning its exterior walls into interior ones. Choice #2 on my kitchen...the historically inspired kitchen that makes you think of the old kitchens at Shaker villages, etc. I love the mustard colored cabinets against the dark shares and the black lighting.

Beautiful Country Home...love the dough bowl on the table & the cupboards and clock.

Both of us love this. We like the timber on the wall (I think they can do this in cement now) and especially the wood on the ceiling (NEVER have to paint another ceiling - yippie!)
