    Storage bench turned file storage. Originally from Martha Stewart. This is a really neat idea if you don't have a lot of space but need to store files. This is better than having a bunch of file boxes because you can still sit on the bench. This works if you don't have a dedicated space in your home for an office, but could also work in a small home office that might need extra seating. :) A great idea for office storage - under bench in living / dining room

I am thinking of doing something like this to my old Ikea dresser that I am too scared to move and paint in fear of it finally falling completely apart. This may be a nice "stay put" solution to do something fun to the nice ole reliable Malm.

DIY- In the File~ Turn up the volume on a pair of plain metal file cabinets by painting them a bright, bold hue. Paint them yourself, or ask an auto body detailer to do it for you. Finally, meld the two with a single top cut from scrap stone, wood or countertop.
