Satanta - leader of the war faction of the Kiowa tribe. He was known as "the orator of the Plains" for his oratory skills in treaty making and ability to speak 5 languages. He gained fame as a young warrior, at times using an army bugle to confuse US troops in battle. Eventually rose to become principle war chief. Sentenced to life in prison for his part in a Texas wagon train massacre, he was unwilling to spend his life in prison and committed suicide by leaping from a high second story…

A highly intelligent chief, diplomat and philosopher who was also a murderer, (Warren Wagon Train Massacre in which seven teamsters were killed), but a man whose life story has only recently begun to receive its full measure of justice.
