No-Grate DIY laundry detergent:   (In a 1 Gallon Container)  3 Tbsp Borax   3 Tbsp Washing Soda   2 Tbspb Dawn Dish soap  4 C HOT water (Swoosh to dissolve ingredients)  Almost to the top with cold water (bubbles will come out)  Safe for HE washers too.  Use about 1 cup per load.  Estimated cost is about $0.17 per gallon!!!!!!
