Self made Miracle Grow. Put Epsom salts and sugar into each hole with your plant. It makes them grow larger, leafier and greener, use about 1 Tablespoon in a 1 to 1 ratio but I don’t really measure it. You can also dissolve 1 Tablespoon into a gallon of water and use it to water your plants, trees, fruit trees, roses, flowering plants, squash,... all veggies. If you have already planted I would sprinkle around the plant and water it in good. :)

A kitchen garden is as much an act of self-expression as a means of growing food. But not all of a garden's expressiveness is intentional. Copper snail and slug tape. This is a great way to keep both slugs and snails off your potted plants without having to resort to using chemicals. It is a self adhesive that should be stuck to the sides of the pot to form a complete circle. It creates a small electrical charge that is further intensified by the serrated edge. It is safe to use around pets and wildlife, and is environmentally friendly - but not so friendly towards the slugs and snails in your garden.
