This has to be the most fun we had reviewing sight words! Kids will be begging you to practice sight words this way.

First Grade- "Slap The Word". Two children at a time... teacher says a word and then the children have to slap the correct word quickly.

Popcorn Words... Easy and fun! Write sight words on piece of paper, crumple up and put into popcorn container. Child picks a piece, reads it & writes it! Check out the blog post for a FREE recording sheet.

" CONTRACTION SURGERY" I absolutely LOVE this idea!! How much FUN would this be to teach? No to mention the KIDS would love it and I'm sure they would Never forget it!!:D

You put an item in the mystery bag and then have the kids take turns asking questions to try to narrow down the possibilities. It is great to develop deductive reasoning skills.

Take a picture of each child holding a sight word. Then make a power point presentation with those pictures of each child holding the words, and use it to drill the children on the words.... { This is a fun idea !}

Creating class books...We make 1 per week and the kids LOVE reading them all year long, then we raffle them off on the last day of school. So fun!

Use for lesson on tattling vs. reporting
