“The Honeymooners,” Jackie Gleason, Art Carney, Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randolph. The Honeymooners debuted as a half-hour series, soon becoming the #2 show in the United States its first season, competing with (and sometimes beating) I Love Lucy as the most-watched show in America. Audience members lined up around the block hours in advance to attend the show. Most of the scenes took place in the Kramden's small, sparsely furnished apartment in Brooklyn, NY.
The Honeymooners, based on a recurring 1951–55 sketch of the same name, originally aired on the Cavalcade of Stars & subsequently on the CBS network's The Jackie Gleason Show, & filmed before a live audience. It debuted as a half-hour series on October 1, 1955 & the final episode aired on September 22, 1956. It was one of the first U.S. television shows to portray working-class married couples in a grittier non-idyllic manner living in a run down Brooklyn apartment complex.

The Best Sitcom Catchphrases: “Bang, zoom, to the moon, Alice!” –Ralph Kramden, 'The Honeymooners'
Actor Ralph Kramden played an overweight husband in the 1950’s sitcom The Honeymooners. As early as the 1950’s overweight actors have played the same role of being sloppy, lazy and desperate to be loved by others. Unfortunately today this stereotype is still perpetuated in modern sitcoms. Therefore the question raised is, why are overweight individuals often stereotyped in the same way? It is virtually impossible for all individuals who may look alike to be the same. (Observation)

In 1891 Edison invented the Kinetoscope for showing short simple films. He is also credited for designing and producing the Floruoscope used in taking x-rays.
Thomas Edison demonstrates the Kinetograph to George Eastman (of Eastman Kodak). The Kinetograph was patented in 1891 and took a series of instantaneous photographs on standard 35mm Eastman Kodak film.

George Eastman (developer of the equipment which mass-produced flexible roll film, the first Kodak box camera, and the film used in the kinetograph) and Thomas Edison (developer of the kinetograph which was used for motion picture), were two individuals who connected photography to motion picture. Without these two inventors, modern photography and the movement of film production would not be considered an art form today.
3. William Kennedy Laurie Dickson invented a celluloid strip containing a sequence of images, which was then coated in a photosensitive gelatin emulsion. This innovation was then put into two inventions: the Kinetograph and the Kinetoscope, both of which were introduced by Thomas Edison at the Chicago World Fair in 1893. The Kinetograph is considered the first practical motion picture camera, though it was the Kinetoscope that became significantly popular.
To project these short motion pictures Thomas Edison and W.K. Dickson invent the Kinetoscope, a peep show platform in which film is moved past a light. However, only one individual may look through the peephole as a strip of perforated film with images move over a light source with a high-speed shutter. Kinetoscopes were short simple films viewed as entertainment and composed artistically. They became coin-operated as they went public to popularize performance culture and change American life.

moon landing. I was not quite 4 yrs old. I watched it on tv and then got my dad to take me outside so I could look up and see if I could see them walking on it. I still remember his picking me up so I could try to get closer to the moon. Sweet Sweet memory.
