Booktown Mystery #1: Murder Is Binding when she finds Doris Gleason dead in her own cookbook store, killed by a carving knife, the atmosphere seems more cutthroat than cordial. Someone wanted to get their hands on the rare cookbook that Doris had recently purchased-and the locals think that someone is Tricia. To clear her name, Tricia will have to take a page out of one of her own mysteries-and hunt down someone who isn't killing by the book.
This is tied with To Kill a Mockingbird for all time favorite book. I initially picked it up because of the fantastic cover art (The Beguiling of Merlin - Burne-Jones), but the story, the mood, the PreRaphaelite-esque poetry and characters - it captivated, captured me. There are so many layers, so many levels to this book, I encounter something new every time I read it. And it breaks my heart. Every. Single. Time.
