Originally for ducks, but could totally be adaptable for a kiddie pool - the pool is large, and easy to clean out. I dug a small pit under the pool, and I put the pool over the pit. The pit is smaller than the pool in diameter. There is a hole drilled in the center of the pool, with an ordinary white bathtub plug in it. Each day, just reach in there, pull out the plug, and the pool drains quickly. Rinse, then refill. Easy as 1 2 3!!

Make water feature at one edge of patio area. Surround all of patio with plants like this one does. Bricks planted with moss? in between.

Maybe I just need this to get pools off my mind - its the adults version of a kiddie pool. I could totally put this on my patio!

"Added a hole in the kiddy swimming pool, and put in a standard cork. The bottom I made a makeshift septic system. So you put out the plug, it drains, Spray it with a hose and let the ducks get back to playing." - Genius!

Pavilion and Shed A new pavilion and shed add an air of luxury to this poolside patio. The shed includes a Dutch door, board-and-batten siding, and a stone base for that poolside look. For the pavilion, the owners chose similar materials, including cedar shakes, copper gutters, and custom iron window grilles. A large outdoor fireplace anchors the space.

This type of semi-buried pool would work if the rest of your yard was down hill so that you could install a drain and have a hose run the water down to a garden. If you had a flat yard, I think you would need a raised pool to be able to drain it in to your garden.

Love the pad at the end for laying, chairs or little one's who want to splash!
