    Literacy Work Stations I would use this activity with third grade. It would be integrated language arts and art. I would have the students pick out a book that they wanted to read. Then after selecting that book, as a class, we would make sections of this book report task cards so that everyone could have a say so what goes on each card. We could color or paint each card.

A great blog post about literacy centers, complete with printable ideas to get started almost right away! Each center has things the kids must do and then things they can (choices!) when they are done.

Use a dry erase board, permanent markers, and magnetic letters in a literacy station. To erase the permanent marker after you're done using these words, apply nail polish remover and write next week's words :)

Mystery Word sacks for Reading Stations. This is for a lower grade, but I thought this would be great for prefixes and suffixes with different roots. Have different labeled index cards inside for students to manipulate the parts of the word before writing it. Writing a definition based on the word parts would help mastery. pre + view = view before
