900 year old church. Borgund Stave Church is a stave church located in Borgund, Lærdal, Norway. It is classified as a triple nave stave church of the so-called Sogn-type. This is also the best preserved of Norway's 28 extant stave churches.

Romanesque architecture appeared in Catalonia (Spain) around 1000 AD, and is one of the glories of that region where it is said there are over 2,000 Romanesque buildings, the stars of which are the small, beautiful churches scattered in the rural valleys of the north.
