The eye of the Sahara The Richat structure, on the African continent, is visible from space thanks to its almost 50 km in diameter and called attention to its curious concentric rings. It is located in the desert of the Sahara, Mauritania, at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. It is believed that it is the product of the impact of a meteorite.
