Around 300 mysterious ancient stone spheres or petrospheres are scattered throughout Costa Rica. Some are over 2 meters in diameter and weigh up to 16 tons. They were made into near perfect shapes. Estimated age: 500-2200 years. Almost all of them are made of granodiorite.
