The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis-- a wonderful series that was penned concurrently as J.R. Tolkien wrote The Lord of the Rings. In both series the forces of evil are confronted and overcome by the determination and perseverance of those who are seemingly weak and without power. Both are stunning stories of bravery and courage in the face of overwhelming opposition and crushing wickedness. It is a must read treasure.

I love this idea!! Have students make travel posters for the books they read. Would be a cool assignment for a Language Arts class, or for library decoration. Could even be turned into a kind of contest?
