A good friend sent this card to my Dad, a true American hero, years ago. We read it at his funeral that was held with full military honors. Let's remember those who are finally coming home this week from Iraq, and the sacrifices they and their families have made. I'm thankful they are home for the holidays!
My dad was in the marines for 4 years and he would come home for my birthday and my siters birthday also my grampal was in 1 of the wars and he still alive today
Special place in my heart for older Veterans. Wish I could find an older veteran that would tell me about his/her experiences. My father was in the Korean War and wouldn't talk about it except when he told me a couple of funny things that happened. Those were before he went into battle. He had a scar on his shoulder where he had been hit by a piece of sharpnel. It wasn't pretty.
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13 - i don't believe war is the answer but i don't doubt the ultimate sacrifice that is made, it is enormous and heart wrenching for the soldiers and those who love them
