Quetzal. Quetzals are strikingly colored birds in the trogon family. They are found in forests and woodlands, especially in humid highlands, Quetzals have iridescent green or golden-green wing coverts, back, chest and head, with a red belly. Even with their famous bright plumage, they can be hard to see in their natural wooded habitats.

This uniquely-plumaged bird breeds on the coasts of Peru and Chile, and is restricted to the Humboldt current. Green-headed Tanager (Tangara seledon) is a #birds #bird found in Atlantic forest in south-eastern Brazil, far eastern Paraguay and far north-eastern Argentina. While essentially a bird of humid forests, it is also common in orchards and parks, where it moves through the canopy, making itself inconspicuous, as its apparently flashy blue-green coloration camouflages it well amongst the foliage.
