"Flotsam" is an amazingly beautiful book from David Wiesner about sealife and adventure, without words, but told in gorgeous illustrations. This book was a Caldecott Medal winner. I'd give it to a 5-8 year old, if you want them to deduce the storyline, but to a 3yr old and up just for the images alone.

IT'S AMAZING. : Flotsam *This wordless book is a great one to use with very young children or struggling readers. Allow them to read the pictures and tell you what is going on. It is a great confidence booster! Many forget that reading is about making meaning and figuring out the story, not just calling out words. :)
