    3.21.2012 OG RECIPE: Homemade chocolate syrup (just cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla, water and salt)...& no high fructose corn syrup. Delicious on strawberries, angel food cake, ice cream...TRIED THIS MIX for chocolate milk instead of my "chocolate anything" mix (below on same board) bc apparently agave nectar is the devil in disguise, rather than the all natural sweetener I thought it was...which is a disappointing tidbit of info...but the choc milk was delicious :-)

- Home Made Choc syrup: 1 1/2 cups sugar 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (I use Ghirardelli) 1 cup water dash of salt 1 teaspoon vanilla In a small saucepan, add sugar, cocoa, and salt. Whisk together gently. Add water. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and cook 1 minute. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool. Store in the refrigerator.

I made this a few weeks ago, and can I just say I'm never buying chocolate syrup ever again! It's fantastic! We keep ours in a recycled BBQ sauce (squeasy) bottle. It's perfect.
