I have these in my front yard:)
waiting for mine to bloom!
I grow this in Alberta...love it
I have these in my front yard too. Pretty but prickly.
I wil have to find these.
Are they thistles?
I had these in Los Anges. I think they re-seed themselves for next season.
Just purchased seeds for this plant. Great Color...will be an interesting look in bouquets.
Just know the actual flowers/stems are very prickly!
They are thistles (or Bathurst Burs)... in Australia they are considered a noctious weed.
If these are thistles they are HARD to get rid of . They spread. It's a horrible weed.
Lovely. I must admit mine never look like that.
these are not a weed in Alberta. They never get out of hand, in fact they barely ever seed out. I have had mine for 10 years and there are only a few plants in the patch.
Looks a bit like Eryngium leavenworthii (Leavenworth's eryngo) but does not have the little "crown" on top. http://www.wildflower.org/g...
nice for an arrangement in a pottery picher.
Oh I love these!!! Wonder what zones they grow best? I'm in NC.. Wonder if it's too hot
would love some for my garden!
I had these included in my wedding bouquet.
pitty about the thorns makes a hard flower to pick.
Just beautiful, would love to have these in my garden!
