Shadow's End, by Sheri Tepper

What's not to like about this book? I want to travel, eat, meditate, and do yoga. On someone's dime other than my own!

I expected to not like this book because the first few pages in 5 y/o child speak was hard to understand but it got better as the storyline got deeper. I had to find out what happened so it was one of those "read in one day" books. Makes me want to play with my own kids more too because sometimes I feel like those "rushed adults" in the outside world he was describing.

loved all four of his books...each chapter a short story. His vocabulary is truly amazing, but his sense of humor is what makes these books memorable. Read them to my husband while he was shaving and we both laughed.

I never read this book as a child - I was 45 yrs old the first time. I fell in love not only with this book, but the author and the whole concept as entertainment as well as provoking thought.

I will always remember how he guest starred as a deflowerer at the neighboring village. He was THAT good.
