For Whom the Bell Tolls. Ernest Hemingway. First edition, 1940, Charles Scribner’s Sons. War novel. American in the International Brigades is attached to a republican guerrilla unit during the Spanish Civil War. “Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be. But what will happen in all the other days that ever come can depend on what you do today.” (Hemingway). One of my favorite books.
