I'm definitely going to make colorful rice for the sensory learning bin I'm making for my daughter!! Rainbow rice: a cup and a half of rice, a tablespoon of vinegar, and food coloring. Put in a container and shake. When you have made all the colors you want, place grains of rice on a cookie sheets and bake for 10 mins at 175*

Rainbow rice, a cup and a half of rice, a tablespoon of vinegar, and food coloring. Less messy than a sand box. Put in a container and shake. When you have made all the colors you want, place grains of rice on a cookie sheets and bake for 10 mins at 175°

Rainbow Rice & Garden Sensory Play : I measured out the rice (4 cups) and put it in a Ziploc bag with about 2T of food coloring or liquid water colors (works great!) and 3 T of rubbing alcohol. The kids helped me mix the rice in the bags to spread the color. We put them on pans to dry in the sun. It all dried incredibly fast.
