Home Staging is not just for house selling: living room vignette
great mix of color & pattern
One of the essential elements of the living room would be the coffee table. Styling it is an important thing when decorating your home. By looking at the items on your coffee table, guests should be able to get a glimpse of who you are and your personality. How do you style your coffee table? Here are five useful tips. 1. Assign a Color Palette. Sticking to a color palette will make your coffee table look uncluttered. It could be black and white, or something bold and striking. Add depth and texture by incorporating metallic elements, and objects with pattern. via Cozamia 2. Stack a Pile of Books. Coffee table books are one of the most basic elements of a coffee table. Display books that reflect your interests and these will keep your guests entertained. Stack them from largest to smallest like a pyramid. via Refinery 29 3. Collect and Classify. Group similar items that you collect, like vintage curiosities or travel mementos. Use trays to keep things organized and hide remote controls and coasters in a fancy box. via Lonny 4. Add Something Tall and Sculptural for visual interest, like this sexy brass deer with long antlers. It could be something that catches the eye. Or something that would start a conversation. That item should be the focal point of the coffee table setting. via Style at Home 5. Add Flora. With all the non living things in your space, it's a great idea to have plants inside the house. Plants are just fresh and they bring life to your room. You can even change your plants depending on the season. And speaking of having living things on your coffee table, your pet cat might be the perfect accessory. via Emily Henderson So by applying the tips above, I have compiled accessories from the internet with three different styles to give you inspiration: The Fashion Savvy Tom Ford Book from The Kelmscott Bookshop; Morton Skull from ZGallerie; Pink peonies via Houzz; Luxor Black Resin Cuff from One Kings Lane; Feuille de Lavande Candle from Diptyque; Gold Trim Agate Coasters from Calypso St. Barth. For smaller snowflakes you use Popsicle sticks, along with a combination of assorted wood craft sticks, squares and shapes all found at craft stores in bags of multiple sizes and shapes. Using a sheet of brown paper and a ruler, draw out a template to follow, like the one below. Lay the sticks down over the template as shown. Doing this allows you to make sure your snowflake pattern is always symmetrical. Use a permanent glue of your choice for adhering the pieces together. Lay your base first, adding the additional layers to create your final design. The final step is to spray the snowflake well with a glossy white Krylon spray paint.
