Mosquitos and Flies Repellent: Here is a simple solution that really works and you can save a bundle vs the repellents on the market. "I mix it with water, about 50/50 and put it in a spray bottle. Use to wipe counters or spray on the patio table and furniture. Lemon Scented Pine-Sol works best.
Listerine Mosquito Repellent. The best way of getting rid of mosquitoes is Listerine, the original medicinal type. The Dollar Store-type works, too. I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well.
Keep this in mind if you start seeing lots of spiders around your place. Natural spider killer or preventer... take one cup of vingar, one cup of pepper, a teaspoon of oil and liquid soap. Put it into a spray bottle and spray along the outside of your outside door and along windows ---Gross!!!
Add 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar to every quart of water in your pets water dish. Fleas will not go near your pet. Fill a spray bottle with half white vinegar half cold water then go around your house mist your furniture, rugs, drapes and anywhere fleas like to hide and lay eggs. Try this every time you're ready to vacuum and you'll be surprised how this little trick will get rid of not only fleas but ants, spiders and just about any critter that's lurking around your home.
My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
Take that mosquitos!- Mosquito trap - Cut the top off a 2 liter bottle. Invert the cone and place it inside the straight part of the bottle. Glue the two pieces together. Add 1 tsp yeast and 1/2 cup sugar to some luke warm water, and pour the mixture into the bottle. Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide that you exhale. The yeast feeds off the sugar and emits the same gas, so the mosquito enters the bottle, thinking she will find food there.
The best way to get rid of ANTS - place cucumber peelings where you have the little pests overnight. It works! Another trick, I made a DIY Safe Ant Spray today, (it worked great!) 1 Teaspoon Dish Soap (not detergent) 1 Teaspoon Oil (I used Canola) 1 Quart Water Put in a spray bottle and spray directly on ants. Works quickly! (I don't know why)

Best Homemade Indoor Fly Spray....I started using my diluted alcohol and water spray I use for cleaning glass and counter tops to spray the flies and it works GREAT! Just spray the fly a couple of times when it lands and they just fall. Take a paper towel and pick them up and toss but then just wipe down your window or whatever that you sprayed and it is now sparkly clean. A safe way to kill flies indoors.
