A few laugh-out-loud gags, perfect CGI, and a spot-on depiction of Bostonians can't save this from the terrible self-referential ("hey people say I sound like Peter Griffin") and pop-culture (Flash Gordon et al) jokes that drag it down. Once I got used to the gimmick I just started to see the teddy bear as Seth Rogan.
Martha Marcy May Marlene. An unsettling and powerful film. The transitions between the two storylines bolster one of the film's themes as posed by lead Elizabeth Olsen: "Do you ever have that feeling when you can't tell the difference between a memory and something you dreamed?"
