Havasupi Falls, AZ ~ I used to take my kids camping there when they were babies... now the youth of the tribes are scaring tourists, robberies, rapes, and worse. Be careful if you plan on traveling here.

I have been to this very spot, and swam in this area. I guarantee that there is no photo shop at work here.

It is amazing, be prepared for a hike, it's ten miles into a canyon on an indian reservation. When I went you could hike, ride a horse or fly down in a helicopter.

Havasu Falls, Arizona Less than a month I'm SOOOOO excited!

Honokohau Falls, Maui. This is breathtaking—It plunges in two tiers for a total of 1600 feet, making it the second highest falls in the United States (only Yosemite Falls is higher). And, it's where they filmed Jurassic Park!

can you swim in there, Jessica?

  • Aline Marie

yes you can, it's awesome amazing and you come out of the water dry in under 2 min. this fall turns into a river that runs through the campsites and then it becomes a 90ft water fall at the end that you can to climb down to the bottom of by crawling through a series of caves carved by the Native Havausai Tribe. Awesome experience, it's a 12 mile hike in

  • Carol

Wow, thanks Aline. It sounds like quite a place. I appreciate your detailed explanation. It is now on my "places to go bucket list." :)

I plan to hike in to see these falls with two of my grown kids one day soon. My daughter's pictures and description from a previous trip are awesome.

I hiked this with my kids when my daughter was just under a year in a backpack. My older kids were 8 and 10. It was an amazing trip. We got hotel rooms instead of camping and really had a great time. We traded game boys to the mailman for horse rides out which worked out great. The only place in the US still running the pony express mail. Living in AZ I have done many Grand Canyon adventures, this one is top n my list.
