"This is one of my FAVORITE classroom management tools!! It can be soooo time consuming to answer the questions...Can we use markers?, Do we turn this in?, Is this a talking activity? I love using these assignment choice signs to answer those questions without me doing the work. Once I give directions for an activity, I quickly place checks and X's by the cards and my students know exactly where to look for the answer."
Self-Assessment Strategy- students use cards to indicate how they are progressing through the independent practice. This allows the teacher to intervene when necessary and gauge students' understanding of concepts.
THANK YOU. Middle school and even high school appropriate classroom management ideas that are practical, useful, and boost economy of effort for teachers and students. Oh, joy, finally a resource that calls my name! So many excellent ideas for a professional, mature yet functioning, fun, and learning-filled classroom!
No More Name Plates - this teacher writes the students names on their desks with sharpie paint pens and when the names need to come off you just cover with an expo dry-erase marker then wipe off with a kleenex and viola! So smart!
To prevent unfinished work from being lost, have them stick in their front folder. When they have finished something else, recess, or at the end of the day, they can look in their front folder for unfinished work.
