Mind maps are graphic organizers that start in a central image to mimic how your brain creates images and "branches" out with supplementary ideas like a tree. Mind maps were first introduced by, Tony Buzan, the term "mind map" arose during a 1974 BBC TV series he hosted, called Use Your Head.

  • Eric Vander Heyden

In this show, and companion book series, Buzan promoted his conception of radial tree, diagramming key words in a colorful, radiant, tree-like structure. [Wikipedia: "mind map"] I refer you to these images to educate your students using proper brain based review strategies. http://storyflakes.wordpres... Thank you for your time, Eric

The Middle School Mouth: ELA Interactive Notebooks

I plan to do interactive notebooks next year, so logistics things like this are important. It's all about routines and consistency next year, and I especially love the calendar situation on the wall. I struggle with makeup work constantly due to your pretty serious absence problem. This takes the guess work out of it- for me and for them.
