Pack in Comfort and Function:This cozy living room packs a lot of comfort and function into a small space. Upholstered chairs and a sofa offer sink-in seating, while an antique trunk does double-duty as storage and a coffee table.

Good luck! Yellow is so difficult to get in just the right shade you are looking for, but it is so beautiful paired with red!

Employ a Stool (or Two!) Stools are a chic way to keep extra seating on hand without visually weighing down a room. A matching set face off against a sofa in this family room, completing the seating circle while leaving the view open to the space's main focal point -- a fireplace bookended by two recessed shelving niches.

Emphasize the Vertical A room's space always includes more than just its horizontal dimensions. Invite the eye to move above and below eye level. In this living room, emphasis on the vertical comes by way of floor-to-ceiling draperies that hang just below the ceiling beams. A tall floor lamp, a mantel-high topiary, and a mantel display that stretches up to the ceiling all draw the eye upward.

Floor plan! Garden Cottage Timeworn elements add instant character and charm to a space. An antique trunk serves both as a focal point and a functional piece. The trunk is storage disguised as a coffee table. In smaller rooms, make your furniture work by pulling double duty to conserve space. (Every room needs a splash of pink somewhere!)

I like that this is older furniture, yet it looks stylish with the color punches and how it's put together!

that's definitely one way to manage a New York apartment! classy, i like it. big art works on those white walls that you don't want to have to paint and then paint back the next year. :)

The structure of this room is so invigorating. The windows create a great connection between the indoors and outdoors. And I love the eclectic design elements used to transform this space.

Neutral base but still full of cheery colors

Thomas has a passion for music. If it were possible, he’d have an entire stage worth of musical gear scattered throughout. Our space is small so the only option for the guitars was to go up vertical on the walls.
