What a great way to use wasted space. I love built-in bookshelves anyway, and to use under the stairs for a reading nook, plus the drawers under the bed, brilliant idea.
As soon as nat has her toddler bed...her closet will transform into her very own space, including artwork, books and a cozy place to hang out.
This is a serene, comfortable corner, and I like the subtle print on the chair and footstool, but I would turn the chair so I could look out the window! Wouldn't waste a view like that!

The tree is cheap, brown tissue paper glued to the wall using Elmer's school glue. The shelves are melamine from Ikea sprayedbrown using Krylon plastic paint. The leaves are cut from a Junie B. Jones book. The cocoon is from Ikea as well.

Also a nice idea in a kids room - but maybe so that its also a window seat - how awesome would that be?
Neat idea for a nook that is unattractive! Add some type of headboard or make one, paint it the same color as your walls and hang above the opening!
